Throughout our history, the people of the Central District have always had a heart of care and compassion. One of the expressions of this care was shown in a decision made at the Annual EFC Conference in 1910 in Boone, Iowa. A concerned pastor presented the need for a home to care for the elderly. The Conference agreed and the Swedish Old People Home was founded in 1912. The home has continued to grow, expand, and meet the ever changing needs of those whom we serve. During this past decade the Boone Home created an Independent Living facility and in 2009 broke ground on a new, state of the art “Neighborhood Concept” for our Home.
Each year at our annual leadership conference, we take seriously our commitment to elect godly and effective board members who make sure we have a competent and highly skilled Administrator, staff, and the very best facility possible. We believe that Westhaven, our Evangelical Free Church Home in Boone, Iowa, is worthy of your consideration for a number of different levels of care.
