In 2020, a National Study of Disciple Making in US Churches was commissioned by Exponential and Discipleship.org.  The results showed that less than 5% of US churches had “a culture of and strategy for reproducing disciples and disciple makers.”  The study also revealed that “pastors are overly optimistic in their assessment of the disciple making cultures present in their churches, and frequently overrating their effectiveness in discipleship and disciple making.”   This may feel like piling on in a year when we are all dealing with the adjustments to doing ministry in a pandemic, yet the fact is we intuitively sense our church does better at bearing great commission fruit.

4 Chair looks at Jesus as a disciple maker, focusing specifically on four invitations and challenges he issued over 3 -1/ 2 years to help his disciples become disciple makers.  4 Chair has value and application for leadership teams and ordinary church attenders.  We will be offering 4 Chair virtually on Saturday, February 6 from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM.  You can register for that workshop here.

This workshop will help you take next steps at the developing the language, processes and culture you need to be more effective and fruitful in disciple making.  Reach out to Larry Austin if you have questions!
